How do you teach a child to enjoy eating fresh fruits and vegetables without using tricks? By far, the best way is by making healthy snacks so interesting and attractive that children just can't wait to eat them. That's what these recipes have been proven to do, with an audience of well over 1000 people who include children, adult helpers and adult professional.

Ages of children making the snacks?
All of the snacks have been approved by kids, by parents, by nutritionists and they meet the Child and Adult Food Care Program requirements for snacks for 3-5 year olds. For a child between six and twelve years of age, eating two snacks meets the snack requirements.

What subjects are covered?
Kitchen safety... Teamwork and teamwork tasks.. USDA Food Pyramid... Food substitutions... Counting and identifying food pieces using the Recipe Rectangle..."Glue Foods"... Supplies needed.... "Snack-tivities" page that includes: Food patterns, Step-by-Step directions... Food For Thought Questions... and Seven additional snack ideas that reflect the concepts of the educator, Jean Piaget.
